Atlas Studios was the proud host of the 3rd People to People Conference on the 12th - 14th September. This portentous conference, the largest of its kind in South Africa, brought together documentary filmmakers from South Africa and around the world to discuss the film-related pressing concerns of the day, with the main focus on how to improve the troubled industry.

Concurrent with the Tri Continental Film Festival, the hugely successful conference - organised and managed by Uhuru Productions - aligned major industry players such as the national and international broadcasters and content creators from nineteen countries, including the BBC. The BBC made possible the Goodpitch initiative, held on day two which gave filmmakers an opportunity to pitch their films, resulting in many successful commissions.

Master classes, lectures and debates were crammed with the over three hundred daily lovers, makers and believers of film exchanging their experiences. The conference made use of Atlas Studio's Studio 2 and Studio 4 as well as the new, state of the art, IMM lecture rooms.

The all-night closing party, cementing the success of the conference on all fronts, was a stomping ripper too.
